Just so you know, this guide was made to helpyou understand how baseball cards increase in value and how collecting can be a great money maker and time spender.
If your planning on starting or continuing to invest your money in baseball cards you should always have a game plan. Obviously, the most most valuable cards right now are the great 30's-50's stars: Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, ect.
But what you may not realize, is that any card from the 30'sorearly sell's well at an easy $20 to well over $100. What I'm trying to say is a baseball card is like a steadily, but slowly growing stock. It may take 70 to 100 hundred years to reach it's full value, but when it does you'll be plenty happy.
Let me guess, your thinking how I'm going to make a profit when I probably won't live another 70 years. I hope you do, but it is valid point. I suggest you buy them slightly aged but for a good price. I was just able to steala lot1960's for an extremely low price. Look, there a hundreds of 1960's and 70's cards selling for low prices. You'll still have to let them age and keep them in good condition but you'll get to cash in your lifetime.
However, in my opinion, the best way to invest is to every year, go to the store and purchase the entire sets for thebasic Topps, Upper Deck, Fleer and Donruss. Now you should store them somewhere safe, handle the boxes carefully, and most importantly DO NOT OPEN THEM. This way, five years after you purchase them, and a brand new baseball superstar is born, you'll have 4 ofhis rookies in mint condition that you can send in have graded. If no stars are born in one of the years you invested in keep them sealed and let them age. Imagine what a gepleted factory sealed set of 2006 baseball cards will be worth in 2056.
I'd like to end this with something I strongly believe in, that you should create a family tradition of collecting and handing down cards to your kids. It gives them a sense of responsibility and something to remember their parents by. Plus it'll hopefully give them a small fortune to start out thier adult life with. Remember though, collecting should be about fun, you should never take anything to seriously.
Hope I Helped- And Don't Forget To Vote!!!
