Use caution when buying Callaway, or other name brand, clubs or irons unless you don't mind Chinese knockoffs which may or may not be the quality you are expecting and which will not be warrantied by the original maker. There are a bevy of Chinese knockoffs being made and sold in North America as can be substantiated by the links below. A current seller lists Callaway clubs as follows:
"YOU ARE WATCHING A BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED CALLAWAY X-20 RIGHT HANDED gePLETE SET INCLUDING 3-SW!! geES WITH FACTORY EQUIPPED TRUE TEMPER DYNAMIC GOLD R300 STEEL SHAFTS FEGULAR FLEX."
Reading the ad one would think these are genuine, and they "may" very well be. I'm not implying they are not. I simply don't know because upon questioning the seller if these were Chinese knockoffs or original, I did not receive a reply and therefore didn't bid. At half price of regular retail at Golftown where they refer you to in the ad, you make the call. However this particular seller has sold many sets with positive feedback. Either the item is genuine, the previous buyers are unaware they are imitation, or they don't care.
It would be my guess this warning can be followed for many items with great prices and IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERN, QUESTION THE SELLER IF THE ITEM IS GENUINE OR A CHINESE KNOCKOFF. At least you then know what you're getting or at worst have something in writing to fall back on. I used to work in the high end Mountain Bike geponent industry where this problem was just as proliferous.
