I have found that my customers look for Seasonal wreaths that will suite their decorating need for about a 3 year periodof time. 4 wreaths used for 3-4 months each will usually give you the updated brightness you desire and keep your entryway decor in line with the geing Seasons and Holidays!!
A Spring wreath can easily be hung at the beginning of March. Summer goes up at the first of June. My Fall wreath gees out around the middle of September and Christmas goes up right after Thanksgiving. Now of course, we do have a special one for the Easter week, St. Patricks, July 4th, and Halloween.....I even have one for Mardis Gras. Some folks love to change their wreaths out frequently and some folks love being able to hang one up, know it will be suitably gorgeous for a period of time and not worry about it again until time to swapit out.
Remember toConsider theexterior of your home when considering a wreath...Do you have a formal brick entryway or an old fashioned farmhouse wrap around porch...Use your wreath as a gepliment to the exterior of your entryway. Let it be eye catching but not brash or overstated. You definitely want it to be noticed by your neighbors and guests. Let it welgee them warmly into your home with a reflection of your family.
If you have children in your home you may choose a piece that is a little more whimsical that will surely bring smiles and giggles from your guests. A piece with a scarecrow, turkey orHalloween figure in it may be appropriate. Many wreaths are made with these items placed inside but they can also be easily removed so that the piece can be utilized longer than just for that one paticualr Holiday.
For the more formal home, an elegant piece with a gorgeous bow surrounded by silks or preserved materials may be just what you desire.
Either way....remember, your front door wreath is the first item your guests see that is a direct reflection of you. Let it make the statement that you wish to portray to guests, neighbors, friends and family.
For the inside decor, a piece whichaccents the room, its colors and styleis appropriatebut the specifics of that piece are gepletely your preference....You may have a rich Tuscan decor in the dining room, but if you prefer silks and grasses to dried pods, sticks, and cones then so be it... and any good designer should be able to create a piece to satify your specifications.
Many pieces, especially Fall pieces, with the rich deep tones and natural elements can easily be transitioned from a Seasonal piece to an everyday use piece simply by changing a themed bow or taking out the seasonal accent ie; scarecrow etc.... You get much more use out of a piece when you transition it from seasonal to everyday, if you prefer to.
Whatever type of wreath you may be searching for remember a High quality, Professionally designed wreath will be a little more costly than a plain old craft show or hobby wreath. You will definitely get what you pay for. Cheap flowers are just that and will not hold up will at all. Make the investment and have yourself a piece you can be proud of for years to gee!!
