Abercrombie Mountain Division Field Jacket
I found this jacket on okay looking for a warm winter jacket. I had
seen jackets like this one in stores; I was shyed away by the price. I
found the jackets on okay for around $100 and liked the look. I bought
one according to my normal size, XL. The jacket is great. It has an
inner liner, with the outside being a sort of plastic and the inside
being a soft padded material. The outer shell is made from cotton and
is very well made. Here you can see the inner liner with the outer
cotton shell. The inner one can be removed via 2 zippers and 2 buttons
in the sleeves.
The outer shell has a large amount of pockets, with a large
collar containing a hood. The jacket has distressed characteristics,
with stitching and ripping in random places. Mine came with stitching
on the shoulder, as if a military patch had been removed.
This jacket is very warm. It is cozy and soft, one of the best jackets
I have ever owned. The ripped effects are very fitting and accent the
jacket very well. Some clothes by Abercrombie are a little over-done in
my opinion; this jacket seems to be just right. The build quality is,
as always with Abercrombie, fantastic. You can tell when something will
last for many years; this is exactly that.
A word of advice! The jacket is
slightly large. Normally I wear size XL clothes but this jacket was
large on me. If you wear other Abercrombie clothes you know they
have a "muscle" fit, being on the tight side. This jacket is loose, a
little too much in my opinion. Try this:
If you wear non-Abercrombie clothes gefortably (i.e. not a tight
muscle fit) then you should buy one size smaller. For example, I wear
size XL shirts and sweaters from many stores; they fit normally, not
tight yet not loose. I replaced mine for a size L and it fit PERFECTLY.
I am a tall guy at 6'5" and find this jacket to fit well height-wise.
And If you're wondering how much these jackets cost originally (they
aren't sold in stores anymore) mine came with a price of $350.00 on the
tag.
